Glue and salt painting Halloween Craft || Spider Craft

Glue and salt painting is one of my favourite art activity ! This is a fun art activity at any time of the year but since it’s Halloween tomorrow, we made a Halloween craft ! Of course, it could also be a Itsy Bitsy Spider craft too.

You need:

  • sturdy paper (we used cardstock)
  • Glue
  • Salt
  • Watercolour paint or food colouring
  • Paintbrushes or droppers
  • Something to catch your salt when you shake your paper !
We didn’t have liquid watercolours to hand so we added a big dollop of tube watercolours into a little water to get vibrant colours.

Give it a try! It’s a fun and easy craft !!

Spectacular SUNPRINTS! How to make sun prints on fabric using paint

No need for special fabric or chemicals! We used an old pillowcase and acrylic paint to make these leaf and flower prints! And of course, the power of the sun 🌞

You can watch it all in our video below. We hope you enjoy this easy nature craft!

To make your sun prints on fabric, you will need:

Fabric (we used an old pillow case)

Acrylic paints (or fabric paint if you want to decorate a cool t-shirt or a bag!)

Brushes

Water in a bowl

Nature finds (leaves, flowers, small rocks)

A warm sunny day

Tips:

If the fabric dries out as you’re placing your leaves, spray it with water. It needs to be wet to work its magic.

It was a windy day so we used rocks but be careful placing them; they will leave a print too!

How does it work?

Water evaporates from the exposed surface of the fabric in the heat of the sun but not from the areas protected by the leaves/flowers/rocks. Water moves from the protected wetter area under the leaves to the drier open area, pulling the paint with it and making the print. It’s so fun to peel off the leaves and reveal the magic!

A super EASY super FUN craft. All you need is jelly, googly eyes and paper! You could also make them out of playdoh, slime, water balloons, or anything that takes your fancy!

Have a ball of water handy – you will get super sticky hands as you squeeze, smash and bash those pesky viruses!

Make an explosion of colours!!! Discover a really cool way of painting!!

Hi everyone. Today I show you how I made a cool painting using popping paints!!! It’s really easy to do, but you must have a tube or container that has a tightly sealed popping lid. Not a screw-top. And if it leaks, it won’t pop!

It’s the carbon dioxide from the fizzy tablet building up in the tube that makes the pop.

Remember, PROTECT YOUR EYES!!

Make paper flowers that bloom on their own!!! Cool idea for mother’s day, birthday or any time!

Hi everyone. Today I am showing you how to make cool paper flowers!! They are so pretty. And when you drop them in water, they bloom on their own, like magic!! I wrote a nice message inside on of them. You could make one and give it to someone you love for a special day or just any day! Or just make loads and have fun!!

Watch the full video for my top tips!!

I used two different kind of paper, printer paper and construction paper. The construction paper absorbs the water more quickly and that’s why the flowers open more quickly than the printer paper. You can experiment with different papers!

I love making paper flowers!!

I used washable pens because I love the patterns they make when the paper starts to get wet, and also how the colours swirl in the water. But you can use waterproof pens or even print out a flower.

Making a dog-themed gift for my friend!

Hi everyone.

My friend loves dog so I’m making a dog-themed gift for her! In the first video, I show you how to make cute paw prints to decorate the gift wrap, using a homemade stamp. I also show you the whole present: the book (and a few more book ideas – see the description on You Tube for links), the bookmark, the card, and the origami surprise inside the card.

In the second video, I draw a dog to make the front of the card and lots of rainbow paw prints and dog bones for the back.

And in the last video, I show you how I make an origami puppy!

I hope you enjoy it! See you again soon!

Making a bower bird den!!

Hi everyone.

I love spending time in the garden and today I am building a bower bird ‘den’. Bower birds are really cool. The male bird builds a bower to attract a female. They use twigs and lots of colourful objects to make a pretty display, and the female visits to see if she likes it! Then they go and use a different nest to lay eggs ad have their baby birds.

I had great fun building the little den and adding colourful bits I gathered from my garden (but not too many to leave some for the creatures that live there). Let me know what you like to do outside. I hope you enjoy my video.

Did you notice I kept saying bower wrong?

Firy, jungly, fishy mushrooms!

Hi everyone. I found some really cool stripy fungi in my garden and it inspired me to colour my own mushrooms!

There’s a flame mushroom, a fish mushroom and a jungle mushroom! There is also a little snail that’s coming to visit the creature that lives in the fish mushroom. I had great fun and I hope you enjoy it too.
